web site!

Kathy started Docere, L.L.C, around the turn of the century, initially to collect speaking fees she might be earning after her NASA years. The name is from the Latin “to teach”. She took me on after I retired as was looking for an institution to which I could tie my new business cards, which I had to make up as all the old UofM ones were obsolete. Since then, its taken on some more functions. With both of us writing more, we record our works and make it a little easier to access them. Since learning from a Hertz attendant that I could get lower rate if I had a small business, we’ve entered into the world of corporate travel. As writers, we might write about anything we encounter, so all travel is a business expense!

A short description of the company took up one of my early blogs, and often was one of my most cited entries (1). January before last, a particularly auspicious publications day inspired another blog (2).

Since February, we’ve been trying to gin up a web page for Docere. I think today, I’ve finally figured it out. So, if you’re curious, here’s the link (3).

We have a new logo, too, urged on us by WordPress as we made up the site

I retired from the Rheumatology division of Michigan Medicine end of June '19 after 36 years there. Upon hitting Ann Arbor for the second time (I went to school here) it took me almost 8 months to meet Kathy, 17 months to buy her a house (on Harbal, where we still live), and 37 months to marry her. Kids never came, but we've been blessed with a crowd of colleagues, friends, neighbors and family that continues to grow. Lots of them are going to show up in this log eventually. Stay tuned.
